Working meeting at Issyk - Kul

In June 26-30 Dolina Mira will meet at Issyk - Kul. There will conduct events, which had to take place in Kayrakkum in May 13 - 15.

Strategy for developing "Dolina Mira" to be discussed

On May 13-15th in Khujand, educational activities will be held for member organizations of the network "Dolina Mira" in order to increase their level of professionalism. A meeting of the General Assembly of the Network will also be held to discuss the strategic goal and objectives of "Dolina Mira."

Upper class students from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan meet in Osh

On April 26th and 27th, upper class students from 30 border schools in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participated in a youth meeting in Osh. An educational program was arranged for the teenagers as well as a tour of the city. Conflict resolution trainings were offered to the students, with a focus on those applicable to the Fergana Valley.

Meeting of the Network in Osh

On March 23-24 in Osh the meeting of the members of the Network "Dolina Mira" has conducted, where the training on social partnership took place, which was directed on rising professional level of the staff of public organizations - members of the Network, on improvement the skills of working with government organization. Also monitoring of the projects of "Dolina Mira" for 2009 was conducted, the potential of donor organizations of Kyrgyzstan for collaboration with the Network was learnt.

"Valley of Peace" provides small grants to schoolchildren

Starting January 15, 2009, the "Valley of Peace" network starts implementation of Phase 3 of a consolidated project aiming to provide small grants to schoolchildren in ten schools from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, for resolving urgent issues at their educational institutions. Phase 2, which ended on December 31 last year, included educational activities to increase the awareness of schoolchildren about the current situation in the Ferghana Valley the history and culture of the nations living in the area, International Peace Day and publication of school newspapers. The goal of these events was to establish positive dialog and cooperation between schoolchildren in trans-border areas.

The network settles its internal problems

The meeting of Coordination Council and Secretariat of the Network took place in Bishkek on December 7-9. The participants discussed the Network's operating plans for 2009, subjects of project applications sent to potential donors, work on building public opinion about the Network and many other issues. The plans for upcoming internal monitoring of projects implemented by the "Valley of Peace" network members were also discussed.

Assistance to trans-border cooperation in Ferghana Valley

In the context of Central Asian Partnership Group (CAPG) International Organization on Migration (IOM), Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in cooperation with the Ferghana Valley NGO network "Valley of Peace" implement the projects within the program "Assistance to Trans-border Cooperation in Ferghana Valley III". The grant program is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
